Event Details

A course of three lectures.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, unusual experiments began to be carried out in the theater, which over time resulted in whole directions. In an attempt to turn the viewer from a passive observer into one who takes part in the play, directors take risks, sometimes choose the most unexpected locations, and use unusual techniques and forms of interaction with the audience. In her three-lecture course, the lecturer will talk about why directors avoid working with actors and how they are replaced. Attention will also be paid to such concepts as site-specific, immersive and promenade theater. And, of course, we will talk about virtual reality technologies and how they are used in the theater and perceived by the public.

Lecturer: Ksenia Knyazeva – theater expert, candidate of art history, associate professor, researcher at the European Humanities University.
